Are you looking to shoot film but don’t know where to start? Try starting with the Canon EOS-1N. You can pick them up for under $200 used on eBay.
If you already shoot with Canon, this is a no-brainer – it utilizes EF lenses and looks & feels like a Canon DSLR. With Canon lenses, you can use auto-focus, which is helpful compared to shooting film on a manual camera. Plus, it auto-loads film, and when shooting, you can stick it in AV, TV, Bulb, or even Manual modes. These features make the learning curve far more manageable.
My favorite film is Kodak Portra 400, as the colors come out beautiful without additional processing.
